The great songs from Broadway will be presented for “A Broadway Valentine to New Ulm,” on February 14 & 15 at the New Ulm Holiday Inn, 2101 S. Broadway, New Ulm. The bar opens at 5:30, doors open at 6:00pm, dinner at 6:30pm and show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are $39.00 per person and include a three course meal, show, tax, and tip. The Music Director is Kathy Wurster, Narrator is Paul Warshauer, and the accompanist is Laura Stelljes. Featured performers are Kent Menzel, Kathy Wurster, Jared Natsis, Jodi Poehler, Jenny Haugen and Miles Wurdster. The sound designer is Josh Menzel. The production manager is Vickie Kuehn and lights are by Zak Stowe. Set design is by Derrick Hare.
The Valentine’s theme includes songs from the phases of romance: Early love, Dating and Proposal, Marriage, Love in Mid-Life, Love Eternal, and finally a humorous section of “Am I tired of Him/Her?”
Some highlights include, “If Ever I would Leave You” from Camelot, “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man,” from Showboat, “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” from Roberta, “September Song” from Knickerbocker Holiday, and many more from Broadway shows throughout the history of the Great White Way.
The menu includes a choice of entrée: Center cut boneless stuffed pork chop, Baked Atlantic cod Filet, and Pecan Bourbon Chicken Breast, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans Almandine and the Chef’s special Red Velvet cake. Meal also includes crisp dinner salad, dinner rolls, coffee, and water. Cash bar opens at 5:30 and will be open through the evening. Desserts will be served at intermission.
